At the beginning of the semester, my Cooperating Teacher and I were determined to create an afterschool program that would encourage students, of all elementary grades, to join their parents and become creative in our classroom. We decided that we would provide this afterschool program to students and their parents each Wednesday afternoon at 4:00p.m. During our first program, my Cooperating Teacher and I took the families around the community to pick up trash. Our first program was meant to help the community and the wildlife surrounding the town. Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, my Cooperating Teacher and I were unable to continue this afterschool program with the families. Before this uncertain time, we were planning to continue helping the community by helping elders and other individuals who cannot perform activities around their home. However, my Cooperating Teacher have discussed how we could expand this afterschool program for the years to come. Our community needs those who are willing to work with one another to clean our precious wildlife!
