STANDARDS BASED GRADING

Please use the chart below as a reference, as needed, to monitor your child's progress toward mastery of a specific skill on both individual assignments and progress reports/report cards.


E - Excels - I can make real-world connections with what I am learning and can help others when they are stuck. I went above and beyond and excelled at the goal.

M - Meeting - I can understand and complete my work by myself most of the time. I am able to independently apply the skill or concept aligned to this standard. I met the goal.

P - Progressing - I find the work to be a little challenging and I struggle to consistently apply the skill or standard independently. I am trying, and may be successful with teacher-support, but I still have things to learn to meet the standard independently. I am progressing toward the goal.

N - Needs Improvement - I am having a difficult time applying the skill or concept, even with teacher support.

I - Insufficient Evidence - I have not submitted enough work to determine my performance. Some of my work may be missing or incomplete.

N/A - Not Assessed- The particular standard had not been assessed over the duration of the given trimester.
