Extracurriculars

MakerSpace

During my time at Princess Elizabeth Public School in Welland, myself and the other student teachers initiated and supervised a low-budget MakerSpace Club. Each week we chose a different theme, and students were given the opportunity to sign up for a theme of their choice. Some of our themes can be seen below.

Tower Power

Students designed and built unique 'buildings'

Invention Convention

Students spent Day 1 drawing designs for their inventions

Students spent Day 2 constructing/revising their inventions

Stop Motion Commotion

Students spent Day 1 creating storyboards for their short stop motion films and Day 2 was for filming/editing

Flag Rugby

During both the 2014/15 and 2015/16 school years, I coached Flag Rugby at Power Glen Public School in St. Catharines. In the spring of 2015, I was the Head Coach for the Intermediate Co-ed team, and I was the Assistant Coach for the Junior Co-ed team in the fall. As a former member of the Brock University Women's Rugby team, I was able to bring both my skills and my love for the sport to each and every practice. Throughout my time spent with the young athletes, I not only strengthened my love for the game, but I developed a passion for coaching as well. I look forward to coaching many young athletes in the future as I move forward with my teaching career.
