EDE - DTS

En septiembre de 2024 di un paso que marcó mi vida: viajé en fe para realizar mi Escuela de Discipulado y Entrenamiento (EDE) en YWAM San Diego/Tijuana, México. No fue una decisión sencilla, pero Dios había hablado a mi corazón con Isaías 42: “Las naciones esperan mi ley”. Y cuando Dios habla, aunque uno no entienda todo, solo queda obedecer.

Esta escuela transformó mi relación con Dios. Aprendí a conocerlo de una manera más profunda, más cercana y más real. Él redimió áreas de mi vida que yo creía perdidas y trajo libertad donde había cadenas.

Algo muy personal que viví al iniciar mi camino misionero fue que no podía leer la Biblia. No lograba entender por qué me pasaba, pero en la clase “El Poder de la Palabra”, Dios trajo libertad a mi corazón. Desde ese momento, no solo recuperé el amor por las Escrituras, sino que también mis dones espirituales fueron potenciados y mi discernimiento creció. Mi espíritu necesitaba volver a conectar con su Palabra… ¡y fue maravilloso!

Durante la EDE, nuestro enfoque fue Compasión. Visitamos centros, aprendimos sobre justicia social y servimos en Hope Zone, un centro comunitario de la base. Ese tiempo marcó mi vida. Mi corazón se expandió para amar más, para ver a cada persona como Dios la ve, y para ser testigo de cómo Él toca, sana y transforma vidas. Fue hermoso ver lo que Dios está haciendo en esa nación.

En un momento debíamos buscar dirección de Dios para ir a una de las localidades de cruzada. Antes de viajar a México, Dios me había hablado en un sueño: estarías en países con banderas azul y rojo. No lo entendí en ese momento, pero quise obedecer. Más tarde, Dios me dio una visión de una ciudad y, cuando mostraron las posibles locaciones, reconocí esa imagen inmediatamente. Fue una confirmación tan clara… Y aunque en el Reino no existen coincidencias, los dos países donde fui de cruzada —Camboya y Malasia— llevan justamente esos colores en sus banderas. ¡Dios es tan específico cuando quiere hablar!

La EDE no solo fortaleció mi relación con Él; también fue una oportunidad para renunciar a mi comodidad, abrazar mi llamado misionero y aprender a escuchar Su voz incluso en los detalles más simples de la vida. Una de las experiencias más significativas fue mi bautismo, un acto simbólico de redención y de un nuevo comienzo con Dios.

¿Qué puedo decirte después de todo esto?
Si Dios te ha hablado y aún no has obedecido, déjame decirte con amor: no pospongas más lo que Él te ha pedido. La falta de obediencia no solo limita lo que Dios quiere hacer contigo, sino que también puede frenar las promesas que Él tiene para tu vida.

Las misiones no se tratan solo de lo que hacemos, sino de quiénes somos y de cuánto amamos lo que Dios ama. Expandir su amor es el acto más grande que podemos reflejar al mundo.

Y al final, todo se resume en dos palabras que sostienen la vida cristiana:
Fe y Obediencia.

In September 2024, I took a step that changed my life: I traveled in faith to attend the Discipleship Training School (DTS) at YWAM San Diego/Tijuana, Mexico. It wasn’t an easy decision, but God had already spoken to my heart through Isaiah 42: “The nations wait for My law.” And when God speaks—even when we don’t understand everything—the only right response is obedience.

This school transformed my relationship with God. I learned to know Him in a deeper, closer, and more personal way. He redeemed areas of my life I thought were lost and brought freedom where there had been chains.

Something very personal that happened to me when I began my missionary journey was that I couldn’t read the Bible. I didn’t understand why, until in the class called “The Power of the Word,” God brought freedom to my heart. From that moment on, I not only regained my love for Scripture, but my spiritual gifts were strengthened, and my discernment grew. My spirit longed to reconnect with His Word… and it was wonderful!

During the DTS, our focus was Compassion. We visited centers, learned about social justice, and served at Hope Zone, a community center connected to the YWAM base. That time marked my life. My heart expanded to love more, to see people the way God sees them, and to witness how He touches, heals, and transforms lives. It was beautiful to be a witness of what God is doing in that nation.

At one point, we had to seek God’s direction for where to go on outreach. Before traveling to Mexico, God had spoken to me through a dream: I would be in countries with blue and red flags. I didn’t understand it then, but I chose to obey. Later, God gave me a vision of a city, and when the different outreach locations were presented, I immediately recognized the image. It was such a clear confirmation… And since there are no coincidences in the Kingdom, the two countries where I went on outreach—Cambodia and Malaysia—both have blue and red in their flags. God is so precise when He wants to speak!

The DTS not only strengthened my relationship with Him; it was also an opportunity to let go of comfort, embrace my missionary calling, and learn to hear His voice even in the smallest details of life. One of the most meaningful moments was my baptism, a symbolic act of redemption and a beautiful new beginning with God.

What can I tell you after all this?
If God has spoken to you and you haven’t obeyed yet, let me lovingly say: don’t delay what He has asked of you. Disobedience doesn’t only limit what God wants to do through you—it can also hinder the promises He has prepared for your life.

Missions are not just about what we do, but about who we are and how much we love what God loves. Sharing His love is the greatest act we can reflect to the world.

And in the end, it all comes down to two words that shape the Christian walk:
Faith and Obedience.
