Baptism

Baptism is an important sacrament in the Catholic Church that symbolizes a person's entrance into the Christian faith. During baptism, water is used as a symbol of cleansing and new life. The "formula" for baptism involves the priest pouring water over the person's head and saying, "I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." This act signifies that the individual is being welcomed into the Church and is beginning a new journey of faith. According to Catholic teachings, a person can be baptized only once because baptism leaves a permanent mark on the soul, signifying that they belong to God forever.

El bautismo es un sacramento importante en la Iglesia Católica que simboliza la entrada de una persona en la fe cristiana. Durante el bautismo, se utiliza agua como símbolo de limpieza y nueva vida. La "fórmula" para el bautismo implica que el sacerdote vierta agua sobre la cabeza de la persona y diga: "Te bautizo en el nombre del Padre, del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo." Este acto significa que la persona está siendo bienvenida en la Iglesia y está comenzando un nuevo camino de fe.
