The reason we "come short" of God's glory (God's righteous or perfect nature) is because "all have sinned". "All" includes me, and it includes you. First of all, you must agree with the Bible and admit that you are a sinner.
A wage is something that you have earned - what we have earned for our sin is death. This is speaking of eternal death, which is also called the second death.
Second, you must realize that if you die in your sins, you must pay the penalty for sin by spending eternity in the lake of fire.
Although sin brings eternal death, God wants to give us eternal life. Notice that eternal life is not through going to church, being baptized, or being a good person. It is only through Jesus Christ.
Third, you must believe that Jesus has paid the wages of sin by dying for you.
Although Jesus died to pay everyone's sin-debt, not all are on their way to Heaven. Each person must personally receive God's free gift of eternal life. You must believe in your heart, and ask Jesus to save you.
1. Admit to God that you are a sinner.
2. Tell Him you believe Jesus died for you.
3. Ask Him to forgive your sins and save you.
4. Believe that He promised to save you.
