The Welsh numbering system follows a set pattern in its simplest format. When counting, the numbers 1 to 10 are everything you need to be able to count up to a hundred.
For tens, you write the number of tens, followed by the translation of the word "ten" and then any extra units, eg. 73 is broken down into 7, 10, 3 = saith deg tri.
Once you pass 100, there are some new numbers to learn (dwy, tair, pedair) but the system of building numbers remains the same (number of hundreds, number of tens and any extra units, eg. 568 is broken down into 5, 100, 6, 10, 8 = pum cant chwech deg wyth.
