What is ASI?

ASI stands for Academic Support Instruction and it is a program used throughout Woodbridge Township School District to improve upon students' math and reading skills. The goal of the ASI program is to provide students, as well as classroom teachers, with an additional teacher resource who acts as a form of intervention.

These teachers will work collaboratively with classroom teachers and administrators to provide the best support for students. They provide on going differentiation, adaptation, and modifications to general education curriculum, assessments, and instruction. They work closely with the general education teacher to create a schedule where they can successfully provide in-class support, as well as, small group individual sessions for students who need work on particular skills.

The teacher will also use a variety of differentiated strategies and assisted instruction to increase student progress and achievement. Basically, at the end of the day, we want to see our students succeed and improve tremendously! Our end goal is to see significant improvement from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. My goal as the ASI Teacher at School #9 is to proudly provide my students with the best education possible in a safe, welcoming, and positive environment.
