Special Education is a type of instruction that is designed specifically to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities. This means that learning is individually developed to address each child's needs that must be met to allow them to be successful in school.
These teachers will work collaboratively with classroom teachers and administrators to provide the best support for students. They provide on going differentiation, adaptation, and modifications to general education curriculum, assessments, and instruction. They work directly with the general education teacher to create assignments where they can successfully provide in-class support, as well as, small group instruction for students who need individualized help.
The teacher will also use a variety of differentiated strategies and assisted instruction to increase student progress and achievement. Basically, at the end of the day, we want to see our students succeed and improve tremendously! Our end goal is to see significant improvement from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. My goal as one of the special education at School #9 is to proudly provide my students with the best education possible in a safe, welcoming, and positive environment that meet all their needs.
