"A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning" - Brad Henry
My Purpose is to make everyone feel seen.
When I was a student, I never had a hard time making friends. I was outgoing and not afraid of what others may think of me despite being in an environment where that may not always be easy. I had many friends who would struggle to get out of their comfort zone and try to create new relationships. For me, it wasn't always easy either, but I always wanted everyone to feel good about themselves. This is the biggest reason why I have decided to pursue teaching. I want to be able to be a safe space for my students who may not have a safe place in their own lives. I want to be a friend to those who may not have any. I just want to be there as much as I can be for students because at the end of the day, I have no idea what they may go home to, but I can try to provide a safe space for them to always be able to go to. As an educator, I want to make students the best versions of themselves they can be. Not just through education, but through relationships, communication, and community, I want every student to find a place where they know they belong. The prime focus in my classrooms does not revolve around a letter grade, but rather a collection of hands-on experience that they can carry with them throughout their lives. Not only do I want my students to thrive with academic success, but I also want them to be fulfilled by themselves and recognize their need for a successful future.
