Your students had a wonderful first day. They did a great job learning the names of other friends in class and learning the classroom expectations for the summer. Please check this page daily for announcements regarding summer school. Thank you!
Please remember to send your child to school with a water bottle and a healthy snack each day. We had some very hungry caterpillars today!
Parent pick-up line will start at 11:50 beginning Friday.
If your child has a favorite book at home that they like to look at please send it to school with them! I am working on getting "just right books" for our class and should have them by Monday next week. In the meantime, there are second-grade level books in our classroom that students can page through, or if they bring a book from home that would be great too. Thank you!
Wow! What a great week we had. This week we spent time getting to know each other in the classroom and learning the expectations of the class. We learned about building sentences, practiced writing our names, counting to 120, and so much more. I look forward to seeing your child on Monday for more summer-fun learning. Have a great weekend! ~Ms. Lynch
Our recess time has been changed! Please see the schedule for that new adjustment.
Please remember to pack a snack for your child each day as well as a water bottle.
There is NO SCHOOL Friday, July 1st, or Monday, July 4th. We will see you again on Tuesday, July 5th. Happy 4th of July!
Dress Up Day - Friday is Tie Dye Day! Dress up days are always optional.
Drop Off - Drop off is from 8:00-8:20, and we are noticing the line backing up from about 7:50-8:05. If you are able, we strongly recommend coming between 8:10 and 8:20 as those who arrive then are waiting almost no time in line. As a reminder, we ask that drivers either stay in their car or pull all the way forward to the orange cone if they'd like to get out of their car so that the line behind you can keep moving. It may seem like those 30 seconds don't matter, but it makes a big difference when we have hundreds of cars all doing it. By pulling forward, it also minimizes the need for others to maneuver around which can create less safe traffic patterns. Please continue to drive with an abundance of caution so we can keep all our students safe around vehicles.
Pick Up - Thank you for continuing to drive safely and pull all the way up to your student at pick up time! We are consistently done with pickup between 12:10 and 12:15, and notice those that come between 12:10 and 12:20 are waiting for a very short time, if at all. We recommend coming at that time if you are able. As a reminder, Safety Town will resume next Monday through the end of Summer School. They dismiss from the parking lot at 11:30, so we ask that you not arrive before 11:35 for pick up as we do not begin pick up until 11:55.
Friday is a Wisconsin Sports theme for our optional dress-up day.
We learned about adding and subtracting within 10, snap words (i.e. sight words), digraphs, and so much more. I look forward to seeing your child on Monday for our last week of summer-fun learning. Have a great weekend! ~Ms. Lynch
Friday's dress-up theme is NEON! Wear bright colors :)
This week we continued learning about addition and subtraction, 2D and 3D shapes, more snap words, and we wrapped up our summer journals.
Thank you for an amazing summer!
