Copyright is a protection law that is backed by law enforcement that means original authorship works are protected. These cannot be copied or changed into someone else's work. This law is set in place so that no one can take another persons original work and claim it as their own. This protects people such as authors, musicians, engineers, directors, etc.

Fair use protects those that use another individuals original work for the purpose of criticism, scholarships, and/or news reporting. Fair use can be used in response of the defense of someone being accused on copyright. Fair use sticks to four factors to determine if it can be considered fair use for the public.
