Misophonic (“the app”) is published by DK Media. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: the app does not collect, store on a server, share, or sell any personal data.
The app does not request the Android internet permission. It cannot send anything off your device, and it contains no analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs.
There is no sign-up, login, or email collection.
Your preferences (chosen preset, headphone profile, theme, volume and tuning settings, onboarding status) are saved in the app’s private storage on your phone. They never leave the device. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes them.
The “Mic Auto” feature is off by default and only runs if you turn it on and grant microphone permission. When it runs, the app reads short windows of microphone input in memory to estimate how loud the room is, and uses that number to adjust the masking volume. Audio is never recorded, saved to a file, or transmitted. You can turn the feature off in the app or revoke the permission in Android settings at any time.
The app shows a notification while sound is playing so you can see it is active and stop it. This is required by Android for background audio.
The app is not directed at children under 13.
Misophonic is a sound masking tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat any condition. Keep volume at a comfortable level.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date.
