I simply go by my first name, Misha (Mee-shaa).

I am a full-time instructor and teach at  City College of SF (CCSF), in the BEMA department (Broadcast Electronic Media Arts).

In BEMA, I teach all things "video", so post-production courses - lots of them, e.g. Intro & Intermediate Premiere Pro Editing, Advanced Editing/Color/Grading with DaVinci Resolve, and Intro & Intermediate Motion Graphics using Adobe After Effects. I also teach field, content creation, studio video and livestreaming production classes for video.

At "City", I co-founded and run the public student film festival, The Festival of the Moving Image, in coordination with the Cinema and BEMA where we get to screen amazing student short films after Thanksgiviing at the oldest arthouse theater in the US, the Roxie, in the mission. Since 2020, necessitated by COVID-19, I also produce FashionSphere, a virtual fashion show for and with the CCSF Fashion department that airs on Twitch. Before the pandemic I worked with students to livestream games from CCSF Athletics - meaning football, basketball and other sports of CCSF's award-winning Rams teams!
In fall 2026, I am working with some awesome students to produce and enjoy Super Mario Smash Bros Ultimate tournament - Livestreams << if you read this far and are interested in participating in livestream or gaming - let me know.

Oh yeah, most of the live-streaming/gaming students are in the current Student SMPTE  chapter/club - a CCSF (and SFSU) club focused on media, technology, experience and community with access to a global media (tech-y) organization.

I also teach at SF State University in the BECA department (talk to me if you are planning on transferring....). In BECA, I teach post-production classes. Mainly motion graphics (After Effects, BECA 547, Video Editing II and BECA 348, video editing) and also Editing/Color Correction/Grading (Uses DaVinci Resolve - BECA 648, Advanced Video Editing).

SF State is also my alma mater where I earned a BA and MA from BECA at SFSU in the early 2000's.

After graduating, I worked professionally as an editor, assistant editor, and colorist full-time for 6 years in San Francisco and Busan, South Korea, before transitioning to teaching full-time at CCSF (there are work details below, if you're interested in my past work).
I continue to work as an editor, colorist, animator, technical director, and producer in the SF Bay Area - as time, family, and life allow.

I really enjoy movies (sci-fi, anime/animation, arthouse, documentary), biking, hiking, and reading.

🙄 BIO #2 👀

Misha Antonich has been tenured at CCSF since fall 2011. He's been teaching at San Francisco State University since fall 2013 (previously taught in 2004-2005).

Misha Antonich was raised bi-culturally/bi-lingual by American parents in Germany and spent his teens and twenties living between Heidelberg, Munich and Berlin.

In the 1990's, after spending an intermittent teen year in Ft. Collins, Colorado, he caught the "acting bug" and returned to Berlin, auditioned and won a place in the Theater Arts school, "Die Etage," where he completed the three-year dramatic acting program and acquired "stage equity" (union credentials required for stage and TV)  in Germany allowing him to work in stage and film productions. Most notably, he worked with the German/English theater troupe the "Berlin Play Actors" and appeared in the early seasons of the daily soap, "Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten" ("The Young and The Restless" in German, however the content is pretty cringe worthy). Concerned about his financial and personal future, he detoured and trained to be a journeyman carpenter (this is what they look like with the traditional outfits I have one!...) - and loved the experience though he declined to pursue it as a career.

He then rediscovered his passion for communications, ensemble work and the arts and approached it from a different angle this time: media production (specifically audio/visual media, video and digital media) in the late 1990's. He moved to the city of his birth, San Francisco and started studying video and media production, remaining committed to the craft in SF State's BECA program. He deeply valued and thoroughly enjoyed studying toward his Bachelor's of Arts (B.A.) there, but things really took off for him once he entered BECA's Master's program (M.A.). Upon graduation, he was sincerely exited to have been selected to be his year's outstanding graduate student of the department.

Alongside his academic pursuits, Misha worked consistently in a long-term position (six years) as a video assistant and later full editor for the live music video production company MX Entertainment in San Francisco (there's not a log of web ephemera on MX on the web (although IMDB has this)- but we were 1/2 of the SF "Betalounge" - a US/EU streaming electronic party curcuit. He cut his teeth and many videos on acts such as the Rolling Stones, the Who, Ween, Rush, Usher, (lil) Bow Wow, Herbie Hancock, Kiss, Los Lobos, Reggae on the River (Various artists) and many other artists.

In early 2006, Misha accepted a teaching job offer and, along with his wife and son, headed off to Busan, South Korea to teach video editing, visual effects and video production as a guest professor at Kyungsung University for three semesters. It was a great experience, full of wonderful people and encounters that he hopes he'll be able to rekindle in the future.

Misha returned to San Francisco in 2007 and was invited to join the Broadcast and Electronic Media Arts Department (BEMA) at City College of San Francisco, where he received tenure in 2011. At City College, he's overjoyed to be working with and alongside talented media students and colleagues. He mainly teaches video production (studio and field), editing (introduction and advanced), motion graphics, digital media skills classes. He's also happy to be teaching classes at his alma mater SF State (video editing and motion graphics) since Fall 2013.

Co-creator of the CCSF "Festival of the Moving Image", a yearly film festival and showcase of student video and media work, involving film, broadcast and animation students.
