About Us

I have been keeping Rats for over 20 years, breeding for on and off for the last 10. Rats are very versatile and enjoyable pet; they were the perfect pet for me whilst I was at University and moving frequently, and now that I have children and am more settled, they still bring so much joy and fun to our lives.

I started breeding initially because it was so difficult to find healthy, well raised rats for myself. Then once I started, I had friends and family wanting to experience our rats as well and we have just grown from there. I have always been passionate about biology and continue to enjoy learning about the genetics behind our rats and achieving new and exciting colours and combinations, without resorting to inbreeding or other unhealthy practices. This obviously takes a lot longer, but our primary goal has and always will be the welfare of our animals. And I'm sure you will agree, the resulting happy, healthy and beautiful animals are worth it.

We are very fortunate to be based on the Central Coast, only an hour from Sydney and unlike many other places selling rats, we welcome you to come see our rat set ups, meet and hold our adults and will help you choose a rat that is best suited to your needs and circumstances. Our rats live in our lounge areas so that they are exposed to household noises and always part of the action. We have 3 children who adore our mischief so our rats are very used to being handled and are never short on play time. Our rats live in large, open cages with hammocks, litter trays and plenty of enrichment items.

Our rats are fed a premium rat mix, but generally hold out for their daily healthy human food snacks. Favourites are pasta, carrots, apples, cucumbers, peas, meats, yoghurt and egg.

For any reason, should you be unable to keep a rat purchased from us in the future, we are very happy to take the rat back and make sure that they are well looked after.
