How has your year been so far? Were sure you're trying your best and that's appreciated!
As the summer gets closer we hope to see more activity from the community and our program. Please remember that the Mirkwood is a public art initiative open to anyone who is interested in sharing their gifts with the community of Waverly. For June the community of Waverly is being gifted a work from the Baltimore artist Brandon Buckson going by the pseudonym "Why Cant I Cry Money Instead of Tears". Why Cant I Cry Money (Instead of Tears) is Baltimore born artist, designer and influencer aiming to bring humor and humanity to the everyday financial grind. WCICM's works brings visuals to the term green in your eyes, and putting money where your mouth is.
The piece displayed this month is titled "The SAMO Struggle". The piece displays an artistic interpretation of famed artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. Paired with the portrait of Basquiat is a quote that reads "The Beginning only makes sense if you know the ending. The ending is never what you expect."
Stay tuned for more developments.
