潮干狩りというのは、大潮の日の干潮に、ずっと遠くまで広がった浜に出て、落ちてる貝の中から大きいものを拾うものだった気がするのだけど、あの浜は今もあそこにあるだろうか。

I think shiohigari（clam digging）, used to be something where you went out to the beach, which spread far and wide, at low tide on a high tide day, and picked up the big ones among the fallen shells, but I wonder if that beach is still there today.
