同じものは二度と作らないようにしているため、私の作る動物たちは、全て世界に一つだけしかありません。
人が一人一人違うように、私の作る動物たちも、皆一つ一つ違います。

I carve wooden animals in Aichi Prefecture, Japan.
Because I try not to make the same thing twice, every animal I make is unique.
Just as every person is different, every animal I make is also different.

●キャラクター紹介 the characters
基本的に同じ種の同じ柄の動物は作らないようにしているのですが、私の家族が元になっているキャラクターだけは名前を付けて繰り返し作っています。
Basically, I try not to make animals of the same species and pattern, but only the characters based on my family are named and made repeatedly.
みりん Mirin
我が家の3姉妹の最初の猫がモデルです。
名前は「みりん」です。著作銘の元です。
大変どんくさいけどそれをカバーして余りある頑張り屋です。(幼い頃の病の影響でほとんど目が見えず、匂いと音と経験で部屋の構造やものの位置を把握して動いているようです)
臆病でよく腰を抜かしますが、勇敢です。
誰かが困っていると必ず助けに来ます。
誰かが苦しんでいると必ず側に寄り添っています。
叱られなれていないというか、愛されていることを信じ切っているというか、叱られてもよくわかっていないようです。
The first of my three sisters is my model cat.
Her name is Mirin. She is the source of my copyright.
She is a hard worker who is very dull, but she can make up for it. (Due to a childhood illness, she is almost blind, and seems to use smells, sounds, and experience to grasp the structure of the room and the location of things as she moves.)
She is timid and often backslides, but she is brave.
If someone is in trouble, she will always come to the rescue.
If someone is in pain, she will always be there for them.
She is not used to being scolded, or she is so convinced that she is loved that she doesn't seem to understand when she is scolded.

我が家の3姉妹の二番目の猫がモデルです。
名前は「みんと」です。
物静かで行儀が良い。でも寝相は酷い。
いたずらは絶対に自分がやったとバレないようにやります。
一人で楽しむのが好き。
昼間はだいたいクローゼットの奥で過ごしています。
大好物を前にしても争うことは無く、何気なく割り込んでくる等、柔和に解決しようとします。
動かず争わず残り物を平らげるので、太りがち。
目の上の毛の生え方の関係で、いつも難しい顔をしているように見えます。
The second of my three sisters is the model for this cat.
Her name is Minto.
She is quiet and well-behaved. But he is a terrible sleeper.
She plays pranks in such a way that people never know she did it.
She likes to have fun by himself.
She spends most of his daytime in the back of the closet.
She doesn't fight even when confronted with her favorite food, and tries to solve the problem in a gentle way, such as casually interrupting.
She tend to gain weight because she eat the leftovers without moving or fighting.
Due to the way the hairs above her eyes grow, she always seem to have a difficult look on her face.
ぽんず Ponzu
我が家の3姉妹の末の猫がモデルです。
名前は「ぽんず」です。
運動神経抜群でいたずらばかりします。
叱られることが多いからか、人間の顔色をうかがうような表情をよくします(でもいたずらは繰り返します)。
食い意地は張っていますが、好き嫌いが激しく少食なので、全然太らずいつまでも小さいです。
姉たちにいつも人間を取られてしまうので、人間からの愛に飢えています。

She is very athletic and gets into a lot of mischief.

名前は「みそ」です。
おっとりしていてマイペースです。
賢くて強かです。
好奇心が強くて、色々なものにすぐ手を出します。
普段籠の中で生活しているので、出してもらえると人目を盗んで冒険に出ようとします。
甘い物と昆虫が大好物です。
ずっと生臭い匂いを怖がっていたのだけれど、最近克服したようです。

我が家のヒョウモントカゲモドキがモデルです。
名前は「しお」です。
慎重で、めったに外ヘは出てきません。
常夏の部屋の小さなシェルターから、時々鼻先を出して外を見ています。
服を脱ぐのが上手でないので、時々人に手伝ってもらいます。
ごはんはすぐには食べられないから、時間をかけてゆっくり食べます。
とってもどんくさいけど、これでいいのだとばかりにのんびりおっとりしています。
コーヒーメーカーがコーヒーを淹れる時の音が気になって仕方ありません。
