Master of Social Work Candidate
I'm Mireya Romero, an MSW candidate, proudly representing my Salvadoran and Mexican American heritage. With a profound commitment to clinical social work, I'm eager to leverage my cultural insights and personal experiences in service to my community. As I embark on my MSW e-portfolio journey, I am driven by a deep-seated desire to contribute to the well-being of individuals and families, drawing from the richness of my multicultural background. My mission is clear: to bring compassion, understanding, and culturally competent care to those in need. Transitioning back to the United States presented formidable challenges, and adapting was no easy feat. Presently, I reside in Downey, CA, alongside my 20-year-old daughter. I became a mother at the age of 18, and motherhood has become central to my identity. I am profoundly blessed to nurture and support my daughter, a beautiful, strong, and capable young woman with Down Syndrome. Each day, my prayers are filled with hopes for our emotional wellness, stability, health, and peace. As an aspiring MSW candidate, I am crafting my MSW e-portfolio with a profound dedication to serving my community through clinical social work.
