I am an applied plant restoration ecologist focusing on conserving and restoring California ecosystems in the face of global change. My research perspective melds extensive training in plant evolutionary ecology with several years as a practicing restoration ecologist. A key goal of my research is to be useful to conservation and restoration; I achieve this by consulting and collaborating directly with land managers. My current research on invasive plants addresses questions developed in collaboration with land managers. I also focus on using species assembly and plant-plant interactions to restore salt marsh ecosystems and exploring human use of salt marsh ecosystems.
