A three-day meeting aimed at expanding the community's interpretation of some of the lesser-understood “miracles” that have been unveiled by JWST in recent years. This includes, but is not limited to topics such as the formation and evolution of early massive black holes, the ISM and CGM properties of high-redshift galaxies, the drivers of cosmic reionisation and the processes dictating the stochastic star-formation histories of primeval galaxies.
From Geneva: Take the train from Geneva Cornavin to Versoix. Then follow the instructions from Versoix.
From Versoix: Take the 55 bus from Versoix Gare to Observatoire de Genève.
All times, routes and tickets are available at https://www.sbb.ch/en.
Note that travel passes are complimentary with hotel bookings in Geneva, so purchasing transport to and from your hotel and Ecogia is not necessary, however, for those without a hotel, the above SBB link is the easiest way to purchase tickets.
The meeting will take place in the Astrotech meeting room at Observatoire de Genève.
The adjacent map will take you to the entrance of the building.
The workshop coincides with the popular Cave Ouvertes weekend (23rd-24th May). For those staying for Saturday 23rd May, we will be visiting vineyards just east of Lausanne in Lavaux.
We will depart from Geneva Cornavin at 10:39 on Saturday morning. Transportation to the Lavaux region is mostly included in the Caves Ouvertes ticket. However, you do still need to buy a ticket to outside the Geneva canton, i.e. a ticket from Geneva Cornavin to Coppet (~12.80 CHF return ticket).
The ticket for Caves Ouvertes can be bought online up until the day before the event. The ticket is 40 CHF and is available at https://www.mescavesouvertes.ch/en; we will give further details on Friday.
We will walk from Saint-Saphorin to Cully, a ~6 km walk, stopping at 20 vineyards along the way. Note that you need to bring cash in order to buy lunch along the route.
Finally, note that the weather is forecast to be 28 degrees with few clouds, and therefore you should bring adequate sunscreen and water.

The registration fee will be 200 CHF, and is payable either by bank transfer now, or by card or cash on the first day of the meeting. The fee includes lunches and coffee breaks, a wine and cheese event on Wednesday 20th May and a meeting dinner on Friday 22nd May.
We recommend that participants consider Airbnbs and hotels in Geneva. While hotels are typically expensive in Geneva, Airbnbs are often more affordable.
The meeting location can be accessed by a 10 minute bus journey (55 bus) from Versoix.
The meeting location can also be accessed from central Geneva (Cornavin station) in 30 minutes, via a 15 minute train followed by the same bus as above. As such, hotels near Léman Express stations (e.g. Cornavin or Lancy) are strongly recommended.
