Bio: Wei Ding received the B.S. in electronic engineering from Peking University, the M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Princeton University. He is an accomplished technology and software engineering leader in the media industry. He is currently a Senior Engineering Manager in Tencent Media Lab (USA), leading immersive and media technology development. He previously worked in Dolby Labs, Acer Cloud Technology (US), Corel Corporation, Rovi Corporation, Sonic Solutions, InterVideo, Chromatic Research, Sun Microsystems, and IBM Watson Research Center, in various capacities, such as Senior Architect, General Manager, VP of Engineering, and Principal Engineer. His technical domain and product area spans from video/audio codec, media system, editing/authoring and player, and cloud media processing. His interests include audio-visual, immersive, volumetric, and media system.

Advisor/Board Member, Formerly COO, Rakuten, USA

Bio: Deepa Sureka is a leader with growth and global scale experience as formerly COO at Rakuten US. Her tenure saw remarkable strides in operational efficiency and expansion, showcasing her adeptness in working with fortune 500 brands, driving digital growth and navigating complex international markets. Deepa's expertise extends into the realm of artificial intelligence (AI), where she serves as an advisor for innovative ventures like Akool.com and LiveX.ai, unearthing the power of GenAI for impactful solutions to benefit both consumers and organizations. Beyond business, Deepa's commitment to human rights shines through her role as Vice Chair to the board for Nonviolent Peaceforce, where she fosters peace and conflict resolution worldwide. This blend of business acumen and humanitarian dedication underscores Deepa's holistic approach to driving positive change, both in the corporate arena and on the global stage.

Distinguished Scientist and General Manager, Tencent, USA

Bio: Shan Liu received the B.Eng. degree in electronic engineering from Tsinghua University, the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California, respectively. She is a Distinguished Scientist and General Manager at Tencent. She was formerly Director of Media Technology Division at MediaTek USA. She was also formerly with MERL and Sony, etc. She has been a long-time contributor to international standardization with many technical proposals adopted into various standards and served as Editor of H.265/HEVC SCC and H.266/VVC. She is a recipient of ISO&IEC Excellence Award, Technology Lumiere Award, USC SIPI Distinguished Alumni Award, and two-time IEEE TCSVT Best AE Award. She is a Fellow of IEEE and IET. She currently serves as Associate Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology and Vice Chair of IEEE Data Compression Standards Committee. She also serves and has served on a few other Boards and Committees. She holds more than 600 granted US patents and has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers and one book. Her interests include audio-visual, volumetric, immersive and emerging media compression, intelligence, transport and systems. 

Speaker:  Haohong Wang

General Manager, TCL Research America, USA 

Bio: As General Manager of TCL Research America, Haohong Wang oversees TCL's streaming services and AI research and development in North America. With a global workforce over 120,000 employees, TCL is a prominent player in consumer electronics and display technology. Prior to joining TCL, Wang held technical and management roles at AT&T, Qualcomm, Marvell, and Cisco. Dr. Wang is widely acclaimed as an industry luminary and distinguished scholar, earning honors such as the IEEE MMTC Distinguished Service Award, the APSIPA Industrial Distinguished Leader Award, and the Red-dot Winner Award. He has co-authored five books, published over 100 papers, and secured more than 160 patents. Wang has also chaired prominent committees and conferences, including the IEEE ICME Steering Committee, IEEE Multimedia Communications Technical Committee, ACM Multimedia 2017, and IEEE Globecom 2010. He obtained his Ph.D. from Northwestern University in Evanston, USA.

Co-Found & CTO, LiveX AI, USA

Bio: Yao Zhao is a technology leader currently serving as the co-founder and CTO at LiveX AI, where he leverages his extensive expertise in engineering and AI to drive innovation. With a solid background in computer science from Northwestern University (PhD) and Tsinghua University (BS), Yao has built a remarkable career that spans various roles, including researcher in Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs, Senior Director of Engineering at F5 and VP of Research and Engineering at Shape Security.
