The Department of Architecture has a 40-year history and professionals produced from our department have been playing a crucial role in the architecture industry. Since 2002, it has significantly evolved as a college of Architecture from the original department of Architecture under the college of Engineering. Under the independent college system, the curriculum has been reorganized as a Five-year B. Arch. Course that meets international architectural certification standards. Based on it, Myongji university acquired Korea's first internationally recognized certificate from the Korea Institute of Architecture(KAAB) and Education in 2007. Therefore, architecture department graduates completed their education under the accredited education program of Architecture department in Myongji University and can have the same status and competitiveness in the global architecture market.

After the certification of international building education, the school plan to run a specialization program to meet the demands of the diversified construction market and innovate new markets. In 2009, we opened the major of Traditional Architecture as the first professional degree program within the College of Architecture to foster talents that respond to the new Hanok Architecture Market and acquired certification from Korea Institute of Architecture Education. The college of architecture in Myongji University has a strong foundation because many graduates have established themselves in the field of Korean architectural history and cultural assets.
