2D/3D EDFM

  • Generating a customized domain and 2D/3D random embedded discrete fracture networks with a descriptive (location, length, etc.) table.

  • Partition the domain with rectangle/cubic mesh and find geometry of all fracture segment cells in each rectangle/cubic element. A descriptive file for all 1D/2D/3D elements will be generated along with a Gmsh file.

  • Developing transmissibility table between all fracture cells and matrix cells based on their spatial connectivity.

  • Demonstrating resulting fracture elements with the Visualization Toolkit (VTK) library.

  • Performing reservoir simulation with Nexus Library.
