Hey y'all! My name is Mint, and I am an independent and self-taught digital and traditional artist and photographer based in the United States. Art is my hobby, and it is something I have dedicated my entire life to simply because I love creating and seeing creation. This website is my portfolio of art, poetry, and photography, and it will be updated when I post my works on my Instagram pages.
Born and raised in Texas, U.S., I've had a creative mind all my life. Whether it was making up stories before I could read or drawing weird creatures during church, I was always occupied with something relating to art. As a child undiagnosed with ADHD, my head was often in the clouds, dreaming imaginary scenarios and fantastical worlds or making mountains out of parking garages. No matter where I am, I love seeing the magic of the world around me.
My favorite medias include digital, pencil, watercolor and acrylic paint, and I began to take art seriously in the third grade. Since then, I've kept every sketchbook I've made and most of my works, and it's been great to see my progress. Poetry is another form of art that I indulge in, one that lets me convey emotions through words when I can't convey them through visuals.
I began serious photography in the summer of 2022. My family went on a safari drive, and my dad let me borrow his Canon EOS Rebel T2i to take photos of the animals. I had lots of fun with it, and it made me aware of my love for photography. I love traveling, and I always make sure to take at least one camera with me wherever I travel to. Traveling has also encouraged me to learn an assortment of languages, including Spanish, French, Irish Gaelic, and Norwegian, though I am nowhere near fluent in any of them.
Aside from art and photography, I'm a woman in STEM and a musician, and I love to spend my free time playing my guitar, singing and watching YouTube videos about outer space and quantum physics. I like reading books (specifically sci-fi, fantasy and psychological horror), even when I can't get through one book without starting another.
From my sophomore to my senior year of high school I was a part of my school's student-run newspaper, and I regularly created graphics and page designs for mine and my classmates' stories, even designing two covers for the print issues. Being on the newspaper taught me how to work with Adobe InDesign and Canva a lot, and I definitely expanded my horizons when it came to visual composition and working semi-professional designs for an audience. Alongside art, I also wrote some personal narratives and entertainment stories and worked as a Copy Editor for mine and my staffmates' stories.
