Student Wellness Education and Resources (SWEAR) was founded by SDUSD students in 2020 to address the growing need for mental health support across the district. With student representatives at across SDUSD high schools, SWEAR works to reform how SDUSD understands and supports mental wellness by developing long-term solutions, creating mental health education, and connecting students, staff, and district leaders. Our representatives lead school-based initiatives, share resources, and uplift student voices to build a healthier, more informed, and more supported community.
Minority Mental Health
The SWEAR Minority Mental Health (MMH) Subcommittee focuses on supporting the mental health needs of underrepresented and marginalized communities within SDUSD. We work to identify disparities, amplify student voices, and advocate for culturally responsive mental health practices. MMH develops and compiles accessible, community-specific resource guides and outreach materials, and collaborates with student groups to promote inclusivity, visibility, and support for minority students.
