Residency plan

Professional goal

My goal is to become a faculty member or a researcher in data science in online learning and information science or in human computer interactions. I have been interested in quantitative research with large scale data and learning analytics thanks to the statistics classes I have taken in the past three years. Recently, I was awarded the LIS Education and Data Science for the National Digital Platform (LEADS-4NDP) fellowship which holds promise to train and enhance my expertise in applying data science techniques in information science. I also would like to apply the skillsets on UX design and usability acquired through my work as a graduate assistant at the Information Experience Lab (IE Lab) in my future work. I plan to complete my Ph.D. by Summer 2020 and work as either a postdoc, a faculty member, or a researcher.
