I am a PhD candidate in Environmental Engineering at Arizona State University, expecting to graduate by December 2025. I did my BSc. in Water Resources Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and MS in Civil Engineering from Tennessee Technological University. My core expertise or interest area includes wastewater de facto reuse, national PFAS occurrence, groundwater data imputation, watershed hydrologic modeling (HECHMS/SWAT), hydrodynamic modeling (HECRAS), urban stormwater modeling (SWMM), ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Python/R/Matlab, Google Earth Engine, Remote Sensing, Wastewater Engineering, and Water quality modeling.
I am working as Graduate Research Associate (GRA) in Paul Westerhoff lab at Arizona State University. My research focus is DRINCS (De Facto Reuse Incidence in Nation's Consumable Supply) modeling. I started working here in August 2020. URL: https://westerhoff.engineering.asu.edu/people/ , https://steps-center.org/our-team/minhazul-islam/

I worked as a Graduate Research Assistant in Tennessee Technological University. I started working here from 09/01/18. My research goal is, “Developing a GIS based tool to delineate highway grass median”. Here I am working on Arc-GIS tool development using python programming language. Official research team web link: https://www.techwarms.org/team
I worked as a Research Assistant in Institute of Water & Flood Management (IWFM) Dhaka, Bangladesh, from 02/01/18 to 07/31/18. My project title was: “Flash Flood Forecasting and Early Warning System in North-East region of Bangladesh”. My working role in that project was performing Bias correction of the TRMM (Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission) rainfall data using available ground station information. I mostly used R programming and Linux operating system in this project. Official research team web link: https://ffews.github.io/about.html
I worked as a Research Assistant in Center for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER), BRAC University Dhaka, Bangladesh, from October 2017 to December 2017. My project title was “Feasibility Study of River Halda”. My working role in that project was to work on SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool) model for assessing the fish breeding condition of carp fish in river Halda.
