I am currently a PhD Candidate in Actuarial Science and Quantitative Finance at the University of Waterloo, Canada, under the supervision of Dr. Tony Wirjanto and Dr. Fan Yang. I am formally trained in actuarial science, quantitative finance, statistics and applied mathematics.
My research focus lies at the intersection of climate and catastrophe risks, insurance and finance, sustainable finance and risk management. I am also interested in applications of climate and catastrophe modelling and Extreme Value Theory.
I have also been a Teaching Assistant (TA) for the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at the University of Waterloo since 2021, with one term being the TA Program Coordinator for the department.
I am on the 2025-2026 job market.
October 2025: A research report which I co-authored, The Impact of Climate Change Risk on Pension and Retirement Investing, has recently been published. We examined the potential impacts of climate risk on long-term retirement investing strategies. The study was sponsored by the Society of Actuaries Research Institute.
August 2025: I have completed the second PhD Comprehensive Exam at the University of Waterloo, which consists of a formal Thesis Proposal session with a committee of internal examiners and PhD supervisors.
