Dr. Mingzhou Jin, John D. Tickle Professor, is the department head of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK). He also directs the Institute for a Secure and Sustainable Environment (ISSE) for UTK. He has been co-leading a $20M initiative called Affordable Manufacturing for Energy-Efficient and Resilient Buildings at UT and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He was the PI for the Center for Freight Transportation for Efficient & Resilient Supply Chain (FERSC), a DOT/UTC tier-1 center. His research interests include supply chain, logistics, transportation, data analytics, sustainability, climate change, operations research, additive and smart manufacturing, and clean energy and energy efficiency. His research has been well-sponsored, with more than $30 million in grants and contracts from various federal and local government agencies, foundations, and corporations. He is a fellow of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers and serves as the editor-in-chief for the Engineering Economist and Cleaner and Circular Bioeconomy and as the executive editor of the Journal of Cleaner Production.
