Hernandez+25 (Fig 2-3, adapted) studied the unexpected high-IP emission arising from [NeV] and [NeVI] in the metal-rich nuclear region of M83, finding that simple AGN photoionization models could explain this emission, but more complex models should be considered to determine its nature.
Mingozzi+25 (Fig 8, adapted) exploited JWST/MIRI-MRS data to study the ionizing sources in the extremely metal-poor galaxy SBS0335052 E. The detection of [OIV] and [NeV] in this galaxy cannot be explain by pure SF photoionization, shocks, and X-ray binary models, and points towards the presence of an Intermediate Massive Black Hole (IMBH).
