Dr. Li is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Promotion and Health Education at the National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) College of Education in Taiwan, and a Visiting Scholar at Penn State University College of Medicine. Prior to joining NTNU, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health at China Medical University (CMU) College of Public Health in Taiwan. Dr. Li has also been a Visiting Scientist and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, as well as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences at the National Health Research Institutes (Taiwan). He earned his doctoral degree from the National Taiwan University College of Public Health, where he also completed a certificate program in Biotechnology in 2015. During his Ph.D. studies, Dr. Li recognized the significant role of public policy in shaping public health care, prompting him to pursue an LL.M. degree at National Chengchi University, which he completed in 2015.
Dr. Li is actively involved in academic activities both domestically and internationally. He currently serves as an editor for the Journal of the American Heart Association and BMC Public Health. Additionally, he has been a reviewer for several prestigious national and international journals, including Lancet Planetary Health, International Journal of Epidemiology, Environment International, Taiwan Public Health Journal, and Technology, Medicine, and Society. He has also acted as a moderator for oral presentations and a reviewer for abstracts at the Annual Conference of the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology. In 2024, Dr. Li was recognized as one of the World's Top 2% Scientists and was honored with the Wooden Bell Award for Outstanding Educators (Taiwan).
Dr. Li’s research interests include environmental and nutritional health, as well as health policy and law. He has published over 50 papers in these areas.
