Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 4, 2026
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you play Dots Out! ("the game"). The game does not require you to create an account or provide personal details such as your name or email address to play.
Information We Collect
The game uses services from Unity Technologies and Apple to operate, measure, and improve the game. Through these services, the following categories of information may be collected automatically:
Device and app installation identifiers
Device and operating system information
Anonymous, Unity-generated player identifiers (used to authorize analytics and configuration requests — not tied to your name or email)
Gameplay activity and interactions within the game (levels played, hints used, mistakes made, session duration)
Game performance, crash, and usage information
Advertisement delivery and interaction data (for rewarded video ads)
If you sign in with Game Center: your Game Center nickname, your persistent Game Center player ID, and the level-progress scores you submit to leaderboards
We do not ask for and do not access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). The game does not show the Apple App Tracking Transparency prompt, because it does not use IDFA-based ad tracking or personalization.
Analytics
We use Unity Gaming Services (Analytics) to understand how players use Dots Out! and to improve the game — for example, level completion rates, where players use hints, and general performance metrics. Analytics collection is enabled by default for all players and is not currently user-configurable within the game. Events we log relate only to gameplay (e.g., which level, how many hints, how long a session took) — we do not log free-text input, your name, or your email address through this system.
Game Center
If you choose to sign in with Game Center (Apple's own service), Dots Out! uses it to let you appear on level-progress leaderboards. This uses Apple's official GameKit framework directly — your Game Center identity and leaderboard scores are handled under Apple's own Game Center privacy terms. We store a small amount of related data locally on your device (such as how many levels you've completed in the current period) to support this feature; this local data is not personal information and is not transmitted to us.
Advertising
Dots Out! uses Unity Ads to display rewarded video advertisements — for example, watching an ad to receive an in-game hint. Unity processes device and ad-interaction information to deliver ads and measure their effectiveness. As noted above, this does not currently include IDFA-based personalized targeting from this app, since Advertising Tracking is not requested. Ad delivery may still rely on contextual or non-identifying signals under Unity's own advertising practices — see Unity's privacy policy (linked below) for details of how Unity itself processes this data.
Whether hints require watching an ad, and how many hints are available, may be adjusted remotely (see "Remote Configuration" below) without an app update.
Remote Configuration
The game downloads small configuration values from Unity Remote Config (for example, feature toggles and hint limits) to let us tune gameplay without shipping a new app version. This is a one-way, device-facing configuration fetch — it does not involve sending any personal information about you.
How We Use This Information
Information collected through these services is used to operate the game, measure and improve performance, diagnose issues, deliver and measure advertising, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
Third-Party Services
Dots Out! uses services provided by Unity Technologies (Unity Ads, Unity Gaming Services Analytics, Authentication, and Remote Config) and Apple (Game Center, via Apple's GameKit framework). We do not currently integrate any other third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting services. You can review these providers' own privacy policies for more detail on how they process data:

Apple (Game Center): https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding the information described above, which may include the right to access, correct, or request deletion of certain data, or to object to certain processing. Because most of the data described here is collected and processed directly by Unity Technologies and Apple on our behalf, requests relating to that data are often best directed to those providers directly, using the links above; you're also welcome to contact us using the details below.
Children's Privacy
Dots Out! is not directed at children and is not intended to knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.
Security
Our service providers implement safeguards to protect information they process on our behalf. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
