Hi guys! After years of watching modded minecraft videos, finally at university i figured that i must buy minecraft and try it myself! After nearly trying all of the 1.12 modpacks (and having hard time with them) i finally ended up with only playing the beginning of them and than stopping and changing modpacs.

Despite how the title sounds, this is a genuine question I have. I can play minecraft for maybe a few hours and then I run out of things to do and just stop, yet I see people playing for weeks on end. A friend of mine has played minecraft since the launch day and only recently got bored of doing the same thing over and over again.

So, how do YOU play and enjoy minecraft for so long? I've tried everything, pvp is just not fun for me, even if I wanted to like it I can't "get good" due to all of the players that are so good and don't give you a chance. I've tried survival but rarely have a world go past 20-30 days. Building Is what I really enjoy doing but nothing, and I mean NOTHING comes into my mind regarding what to build and when I do build I'm so bad at it that I just don't understand how I make things look really damn good, as in, I physically cannot picture in my head what I want from a build.

How do kids enjoy this game so much and adults love it so much. I don't understand it at all lol i'm sure even if i was a 5 yr old i wouldn't give a damn about this game as opposed to like mario i liked that then and even now. it's personal preference i understand but it's like all the young kids now just like 1 type of thing. Also what does this mean for the future of gaming? my generation (90's kids) are the reason for GTA developing into what it is, what will come forth of this minecraft gen kids i feel like we're going backwards. Sorry if i come off condescending i did enjoy building a house in minecraft but that's about it. I don't see the point to the rest of the game lol. Give your two cents (just don't attack me!)

Many like the multiplayer, some like survival, the real reason people people like minecraft is the same as the reason people like skyrim.

The openness, the modability, the sheer customizability. The options.

The only difference is minecraft can run on almost any computer.

Why not build massive cities in minecraft? you have the ability, and once you have the game you have unlimited space. I built fucking pirate ships, houses, greek temples, all sorts of stuff. people have built entire cities the exist irl. people built walking machines and clocks, and computers and flying rockets. not to mention the mods.

BTW do you like skyrim.

Me and my friend got bored with minecraft, and what we did was that we came up with challenges. All diamond tools + small house + challenge items. For example, we had a challenge called "Sweet Tooth." In it, you had to get 5 pumpkin pie and 1 cake along with tools. We did races together and against each other, but if you prefer singleplayer you could always do this sorts of challenges against the clock, perhaps enchanted tools + armor + 10x10 house + challenge items in less than 2 hours or something? This sort of stuff kept our imaginations wild and our playtime on minecraft remained diverse and enjoyable.

Hey! You should try out this challenge then. It's called the City Construction Challenge. -java-edition/survival-mode/297932-the-city-construction-challenge . It's a bit dated but it's still pretty fun to do, and it takes a lot of time. Try to play on a strict level to make it more fulfilling, or do whatever you want. I played going the hardcore route and got to stage 3. I'm waiting for the next minecraft update so I can start new and with a fresh update. I hope you like it!

Crouching is important in Minecraft, especially if you're exploring vast caves or building tall structures. While crouched you are unable to fall off of a block. You'll encounter many a precarious ledge on your adventures, and with Tired Legs you'll always be at risk of falling to your death. This can lead to a lot of comedy and frustration as you step into Lava or off of a cliff. This is one of those game changers for those who want a challenge and enjoy adding danger to their game.

The outdated graphics and pixellated blocks are what makes Minecraft the game it is for me. The lack of any plot or ending point also makes the game stand out. The game ends when you choose to stop playing it, which can be a very difficult thing to do. You build your own plot as you go, and the freedom of this game is what makes it beautiful to me.

So, unfortunately, I didn't enjoy the building or result of this set. Maybe my attention span is less than that of an 8 year old, but I can't imagine a child actually finishing this set to even play with it as the instructions want.

The minifigures were great. I always enjoy seeing new Minecraft prints. I do have a few Minecraft minifigures, and they have cool designs! There were a good assortment of parts and weapons too. This will be happily added to my brick collection.

So yes, those are my three reasons of why I enjoy playing Minecraft. I have the opportunity to freely explore and adventure my environment. As well as the opportunities to create and engineer some great feats of personal achievement.
