One mister Silvio Berlusconi claimed in 2005 that Finns don't know what Parma ham is and only eat marinated reindeer.
First of all, we don't marinate the reindeer. Little salt and pepper is enough for it. And we do know Parma ham.
But you should go and make up your own mind. Taste reindeer, smoked salmon, desserts with berries and the famous Finnish gin and tonic Napue GT.
Many of the bars, restaurants and cafes listed here are walking distance from our conference hotel.

Trillby & Chadwick
The story tells that this speakeasy type of bar is actually an old branch office of a London based detective agency. We don't actually know much about this place because it's not allowed to take pictures inside. Go and find out for yourself!
Grotesk Coctail Bar
Grotesk is a Michelin star awarded restaurant. Their cocktail bar uses pure and self-made ingredients. They are bringing techniques from the kitchen to the bar too.
Kallio bars
Kallio offers both hipster bars and very local pubs. Hipster favourite Siltanen (Hämeentie 13 B) offers lunch during the day and music kicks at night. Cella (Fleminginkatu 15) has a feeling from the past. They serve traditional Finnish food and beer. Close to our Thursday night dinner restaurant Meripaviljonki you can find nice bars like Juttutupa (Säästöpankinranta 6) and Rytmi (Toinen linja 2).
Jaques Chirac

Vanha kauppahalli and Hietaniemen halli
The old market halls next to the main market place and in Hietaniemi have many small restaurants and cafes serving delicious food. Vanha Kauppahalli (old market hall) has also butchers, cheese shop and souvenirs shops.
Cafe Regatta
Cafe Regatta is a cosy cafe in a hut by the sea. Only about a kilometer away from our hotel, Regatta is a perfect place to go on a walk.
Tin Tin Tango
Tin Tin Tango almost right behind the hotel is a nice cafe that has an interesting specialty: you can make your laundry there.
Blue Villa (Sininen huvila)
You can see Blue Villa across the bay from the conference room. There’s two cafes in the villa, hosted by two brothers having disagreements where the fences should stand. Views are nice if the fences haven’t gone up too high.
