Privacy Policy for Tome Bound
Effective Date: September 20th 2026
This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which the mobile game "Tome Bound" ("the App") collects, uses, maintains, and discloses information collected from users (each, a "User") of the App.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly As the individual developer, I do not collect, store, or transmit any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, or precise geographic location data.
1.2 Local Data The App stores game preferences (such as sound settings and high scores) locally on your device. This data is not transmitted to any external server.
1.3 Information Collected by Third Parties (AdMob) The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. This service is necessary to provide the App for free. AdMob may collect and process the following data:
§ Device Identifiers: Advertising ID (AAID/IDFA).
§ Network Information: IP address and connection type.
§ Usage Data: Ad impressions, clicks, and how you interact with the App.
§ Diagnostics: Crash logs and performance data related to ads.
2. How We Use Information
We (and our third-party partners) use the collected information for the following purposes:
§ To Provide the Service: Saving your high score and settings locally.
§ To Serve Ads: Google AdMob uses device identifiers to show advertisements that are relevant to you (Personalized Ads) or to ensure ads function correctly (Non-Personalized Ads).
§ Analytics: To understand how the app is being used to improve performance.
3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR - UK/EEA Users)
If you are located in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your data based on the following legal grounds:
Consent: Personalized Advertising: We rely on your explicit consent to allow AdMob to access your device identifier (Advertising ID) to show you personalized ads. You will be asked for this consent upon first launching the app via a pop-up (Google UMP). You may withdraw consent at any time in the App settings.
Legitimate Interest: Basic Functionality & Security: Processing necessary to store your local game progress, detect fraud, ensure ad security, and debug technical issues.
4. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
For residents of California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides specific rights regarding your personal information.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: While I do not "sell" your personal information in the traditional sense (I do not exchange data for money), the use of Google AdMob involves the transfer of device identifiers and usage data to Google for advertising purposes. Under California law, this may be considered "sharing" or "selling" for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Your Rights:
§ You have the right to opt-out of the sale/sharing of your personal information.
§ You can exercise this right by adjusting your device settings (e.g., "Limit Ad Tracking" on iOS or "Opt out of Ads Personalization" on Android) or via the privacy settings within the App.
5. Children’s Privacy (COPPA)
Target Audience: 13+ Our App is intended for a general audience and is not directed towards children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
