MindPoke is built on a Local-First, Privacy-First architecture. Your data stays on your device. We do not run a centralized database of your tasks, reminders, or habits.
1. Information We Collect & Store
All your data (tasks, reminders, settings, gamification progress) is saved exclusively in your browser's chrome.storage.local or chrome.storage.sync. It never leaves your device to our servers.
If you activate a Premium license, your Lemon Squeezy license key is stored locally on your device only. We do not hold a copy of it on any server.
We do NOT collect: analytics, crash reports, behavioral telemetry, browsing history, open tabs, or user profiles.
2. External Services & Third-Party APIs
DuckDuckGo Favicon API (icons.duckduckgo.com): When you save a URL, we fetch only the domain's favicon for display. No personal data or browsing context is transmitted.
Lemon Squeezy (api.lemonsqueezy.com): When you activate a license key, the Extension sends only the key string to Lemon Squeezy's API to verify it. Purchases are subject to Lemon Squeezy's own Privacy Policy (lemonsqueezy.com/privacy).
3. Chrome Extension Permissions
alarms – To fire reminder notifications at your scheduled time.
notifications – To display native Chrome notification pop-ups.
storage – To save your tasks, settings, and license key locally.
offscreen – To play alarm sounds and ambient audio in the background.
tabs / scripting – Only used to display a fullscreen overlay on the active tab when a reminder fires during Focus Mode.
4. Data Deletion
You control all your data. To delete it: uninstall the MindPoke extension, or go to chrome://settings/clearBrowserData and clear site data.
5. GDPR & CCPA Compliance
Because MindPoke stores no personal data on external servers, we inherently comply with GDPR and CCPA. You have full right to access, erase, and control all your data at any time — entirely on your own device.
6. No Sale of Data
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share user data with any third party for marketing or any other purpose.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy if new features require it. The Effective Date will always reflect the latest revision.
