We're excited to have you join our project and to support your Total Knee Replacement journey!
Go to the "Step 1" tab and read through the eligibility criteria. If you are interested in participating in the project, navigate to the "Start Your Screening Questionnaire" button and answer all questions to verify your eligibility.
After eligibility is verified, you will receive a confirmation email with your unique participant code. Please save this code, as you will need to enter it at the beginning of each survey. The unique participant code helps us anonymously match your responses over time while protecting your privacy. Your participant code does not include any personal information, and your responses will remain completely anonymous.
Your confirmation email will also include brief information and instructions. If you haven't received your confirmation email within 24 hours, please email MindfulSurgeryProject@gmail.com.
You will be asked to compete a set of surveys before you start the educational modules. Go to the "Step 2" tab and navigate to the "Start Your Pre-Education Surveys" button to complete all surveys.
Go to the "Step 3" tab and watch three modules about emotional regulation strategies. Start whenever you are ready. You should complete the three modules in order and in one sitting or with minimal time between them. Each module builds on the content of the previous one and is designed to be viewed consecutively for the information to be most effective.
For flexibility, you have a 12 day window to start and complete the modules. You will complete the modules no earlier than 14 days before surgery and no later than 2 days before surgery.
Once you begin, all three modules should be completed back-to-back.
Complete a second set of surveys after completely finishing the three educational modules. Go to the "Step 4" tab and navigate to the "Start Your Post-Education Surveys" button to complete all surveys.
Try out the simple exercises (like deep breathing or cognitive restructuring) for 10-15 minutes each day. Small steps every day make a big difference!
