Help individuals of all ages experiencing grief, trauma, and other forms of adversity face, quantify, and communicate their emotions; all the while creating a space for one to feel safe to be “where they are” in that moment.
As reaction to grief and trauma becomes more pervasive, additional methods and tools are needed to nurture these needs. Communication using pictorial images and word imagery can allow for non-verbal expression while providing a lifeline as one is navigating through their pain. The use of scales provides a space for deeper introspection to create a path for self-expression or communication as one's emotional reactions are normalized. Using scales as a means of mindfulness creates opportunities to develop self-awareness and aid in self-management strategies. Use this fresh approach of continuums to provide a tangible tool with a creative appeal to those experiencing adversity.
