MindfulPause is a health research and wellness tool. By using the app, you participate in a study analyzing the relationship between physical recovery and digital stress.

• Medical Disclaimer: This app is not a medical device. It does not provide clinical diagnoses, medical advice, or treatment. The stress analysis is experimental and should not be used for medical decision-making.

2. INFORMATION WE ACCESS AND COLLECT

To provide our core stress-analysis features, we collect the following:

• Account Information: Your phone number is used for secure authentication via Firebase.

• Health Connect Data: With your explicit permission, we read sleep duration, step counts, and activity levels. This data helps us understand your physical recovery state.

• Behavioral Biometrics: We collect technical interaction data, including scroll velocity, touch pressure, and micro-movements (jitters). This data is used to detect real-time stress markers.

• App Usage: Data on which apps you pause and time saved to provide core functionality.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

Your data is used specifically for the following purposes:

• Stress Estimation: Correlating physical rest (Health Connect) with digital behavior (Biometrics) to provide "Mindful Pauses."

• Anonymized Research: De-identified data may be used to improve our stress-detection algorithms for all students.

• Limited Use: Our use of Health Connect data adheres to the Health Connect Permissions Policy, including Limited Use requirements. We never sell your data or share it with third parties for advertising or marketing.

4. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

• Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and at rest within Google Firebase (Google Cloud).

• Retention: We retain data only as long as your account is active or as needed for our research purposes.

• Access Control: Access to raw research data is restricted to authorized team members and used only for the stated purposes.

5. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

• Withdrawal: You can stop participating in the study at any time by revoking permissions in the app's Settings or within the Android System Health Connect settings.

• Deletion: You may delete your account and all associated personal data directly from the Settings menu in the app.

• Opt-out: You can use the core "Mindful Pause" features without enabling Health Connect research tracking, though analysis accuracy will be limited.
