At Mindful Traveler, we believe your peace of mind includes the security of your data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information, specifically regarding our speed tracking, journey logging, weather integration, and family safety features.

1. Information We Collect

• Location Data (GPS): To function, Mindful Traveler requires access to your device’s location services. This data is used in real-time to calculate your speed, determine road types, and record your journey paths.

• Motion & Fitness Data: We may access motion data to provide visual feedback on driving behaviors (such as the "Smart Speed Dashboard").

• Weather Data: To provide weather-adjusted safety thresholds, the app requests current weather conditions from Apple’s WeatherKit based on your approximate location.

• Family Safety Data: If you use Family Safety features, the status of your journey (e.g., "Driving") and your current location are processed to share with contacts you have explicitly invited and authorized.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data solely to provide core functionality:

• Local Processing: Most calculations (Speed, Reality Check, Road Detection, and Zone Analysis) are performed locally on your device via SwiftData.

• Weather Integration: Location data is used to fetch current weather conditions to ensure safety thresholds are dynamically adjusted for rain, snow, or visibility issues.

• Family Safety: Location data is transmitted securely to our cloud service only for the purpose of sharing your status with your authorized Family Circle. We do not retain historical location tracks on our servers once the journey is complete.

3. Data Storage and Privacy Commitments

• "Privacy First" Commitment: Your historical journey logs are stored exclusively on your device. I do not have access to your historical driving data, and it is never transmitted to my servers.

• No Data Sales: I do not sell, rent, or monetize your location data or personal information to third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.

• Security: Data transmitted to our servers for the Family Safety feature is encrypted in transit.

4. Third-Party Services

We utilize Apple’s native APIs, including MapKit and WeatherKit. These services are governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. Mindful Traveler does not share your identifiable driving habits or journey history with these third-party services.

5. User Control and Revoking Access

• Manage Permissions: You can disable Location Services at any time via iOS Settings.

• Delete History: You can delete individual journey logs or your entire driving history directly within the app settings.

• Stop Sharing: You can revoke Family Safety access for any contact at any time within the app.

6. Children’s Privacy

Our features are designed for families. However, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent.
