Mindfulness for the holidays:
Caring for yourself and others during the festive season
Nov 14th, 9:30 AM to 3 PM
Heidi Schuttenberg, PhD
“Even the Buddha and Jesus encountered difficulties when they went back home”
During this virtual retreat, mindfulness teacher Heidi Schuttenberg will share practices for taking care of yourself and others during the holiday season.
The morning (9:30 am to noon) will focus on mindfulness practices for self-care. We'll focus on filling up your cup so you feel more resilient whether you are spending the holidays with family or by yourself. These teachings will include opportunities for moving away from your screen for walking meditation and a guided relaxation practice.
During the afternoon (1 to 3 pm) we'll share mindful communication approaches to deepen connection and harmony with others. Through teachings and experiential practice, participants will strengthen their skills in deep listening and wise speech.
This virtual retreat will be held Saturday, November 14th from 9:30 AM to 3 PM, Eastern, with a 1-hour lunch break at noon. The retreat is offered at no charge and participants are welcome to offer a donation if they are so inspired. This offering is appropriate for those new to mindfulness meditation as well as experienced practitioners.
This retreat will be offered by Heidi Schuttenberg, PhD. Heidi has practiced mindfulness meditation for the last 18 years, participating in retreats with Jack Kornfield, Tara Brach, Jonathan Foust, Ruth King, and many other skilled teachers. She is currently a mentor in the Year of Living Mindfully program led by Jonathan Foust and is completing a 2-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield.
