Stephen Rose is a counsellor and psychotherapist specialising in men’s mental health, emotional wellbeing, and relational development. He is the co‑founder and co‑director of Mindsnaps CIC, a photography‑based mental‑wellness organisation that uses images and visual storytelling to help men explore difficult emotions, mental health challenges, and lived experiences in a safe and accessible way. Through Mindsnaps, Stephen designs and delivers workshops, courses, and community programmes that support men in discussing topics such as depression, anxiety, anger, addiction, self‑harm, and suicide.
In his therapeutic practice, Stephen supports men experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, anger, relationship difficulties, bereavement, and emotional disconnection. His integrative approach combines counselling, psychotherapeutic insight, and cognitive‑behavioural principles, helping men understand themselves more deeply and express emotions they may struggle to articulate. He offers both online and in‑person therapy, creating a grounded, confidential space where men can explore their inner world safely and without judgement.
Stephen’s professional focus is shaped by extensive experience working with men individually and in groups. This includes facilitating male‑only wellbeing groups, delivering community‑based emotional‑education programmes, and developing innovative visual‑based methods for emotional expression. His work is informed by a deep understanding of the psychological, social, and cultural pressures that shape men’s emotional lives, including shame, defensiveness, identity expectations, and the impact of silence.
In addition to his clinical and community work, Stephen delivers specialist CPD training for counsellors, psychotherapists, and mental‑health practitioners. His training integrates evidence‑informed theory with practical, experiential learning, equipping professionals with the skills, confidence, and gender‑sensitive insight needed to work effectively with male clients. His teaching is recognised for its clarity, emotional intelligence, and strong grounding in real‑world therapeutic practice.
