MindLock ("we", "our", or "the app") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how MindLock handles information when you use our mobile application.
MindLock is designed as a focus, productivity, and digital wellbeing application that helps users block distracting apps and content, manage screen time, use Study Mode, and build healthier digital habits.
MindLock is designed to operate primarily on your device.
To provide features such as app usage limits, screen-time tracking, daily scroll limits, and focus sessions, MindLock may access information about how apps are being used on your device.
This may include:
App usage duration
Which installed apps are selected for blocking
Focus session information
Screen-time and usage statistics
Your selected limits and blocking settings
This information is used to provide MindLock's core functionality.
MindLock may store settings that you create inside the app, such as:
Blocked apps
Daily time limits
Scroll limits
Study Mode settings
Focus session settings
Strict Mode settings
Uninstall Protection preferences
Break reminder settings
These settings are used only to provide and customize the app's features.
MindLock uses Android's Accessibility Service to provide certain blocking and focus features.
Depending on the features you enable, Accessibility Service may be used to:
Detect when a selected app is opened
Detect supported distracting content
Trigger blocking screens
Help enforce selected app restrictions
Support certain focus and anti-distraction features
MindLock does not use Accessibility Service to read personal messages, passwords, banking information, or other sensitive personal content.
Accessibility data is used only to provide the functionality of MindLock and is not sold to third parties.
MindLock may request Usage Access permission to accurately measure application usage.
This permission allows MindLock to determine how long selected applications have been used and to enforce the screen-time limits you configure.
Usage information is used for MindLock's core functionality and is not sold to advertisers or other third parties.
MindLock may request the "Display Over Other Apps" permission.
This permission is required to display blocking or focus screens when a selected restriction is triggered.
For example, when you reach an app's configured time limit, MindLock may display a blocking screen to help you stay within your selected limit.
Study Mode may use Android's Notification Policy Access permission to reduce interruptions during focus sessions.
When you enable and configure Study Mode, MindLock may use this permission to control notification and vibration behavior according to your selected settings.
Phone calls and other exceptions may remain available depending on your device and settings.
MindLock may provide an optional Uninstall Protection feature.
This feature is controlled entirely by the user.
Uninstall Protection is disabled unless the user activates it.
Users can choose whether they want to use this feature.
When enabled, MindLock may use supported Android mechanisms to provide additional protection against disabling or uninstalling the application.
The feature is intended to help users maintain their own focus and digital wellbeing goals.
MindLock does not activate Uninstall Protection without the user's choice.
MindLock is designed to keep your usage information and app settings on your device whenever possible.
We do not sell your personal information or usage data.
If a future version of MindLock introduces cloud-based services, analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or other third-party services that collect information, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
MindLock does not intentionally share your personal usage information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
If third-party services are added to the application in the future, their data collection and processing practices will be disclosed in an updated version of this Privacy Policy.
We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by MindLock.
However, no electronic storage system or method of transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
MindLock is not specifically directed toward children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so that appropriate action can be taken.
You are in control of the permissions used by MindLock.
You can:
Enable or disable Accessibility Service
Enable or disable Usage Access
Enable or disable Display Over Other Apps
Enable or disable Notification Policy Access
Enable or disable Uninstall Protection
Change your blocking and focus settings
Uninstall the application when Android and the application's current settings allow it
Disabling certain permissions may prevent some MindLock features from working correctly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to MindLock, its features, or applicable requirements.
When we make changes, the updated Privacy Policy will be published with a new "Last Updated" date.
