My name is Amelia Watson and Im currently studying at Access Creative College on the Film, Videography and Photography course. I have always been incredibly passionate for all things creative, beginning as a child passionate in music and drama, learning about photography in high school, beginning my own business and then learning about videography through this, I was finally driven to study media in college, working on my Level 3 Film, Videography and Photography BTEC. I enjoyed my courses immensely and took every opportunity my tutors gave me, leading to me doing a course with the British Film Institute, gaining my Level 2 NCFE qualification in Preparing to Work in The Film Industry, and to photograph and create videos of many local gigs, even being given the opportunity to photograph the Climate Live bus at Latitude Festival 2024. I have also made a good few short films, some with friends and some alone during my evenings at home which is something I enjoy doing in my spare time. I was very pleased to be awarded ‘Best Short Film’ by Access Creative College in 2024, and I was also nominated for ‘Best Photo’ at the Access Awards 2024. After working and getting lots of experience in the industry, I decided that working on sets of film and TV would be the next step I want to take in my career. 

I have always been a very passionate person who puts my 100 percent into everything I feel passion for. I have always loved the art of storytelling, from loving reading any books I could get my hands on as a child to now having a mini library in my living room as an adult. I loved, and love, reading because I find it fascinating how an entire world can be created through a few scratches on a page. It amazes me the amount a simple story can make someone feel and this is exactly what I want to do in my life. I want to make people feel things through a story, no matter how simple or complex, my goal is always to bring out emotion and feeling through my work. As a child I was very loud and confident, I was in musical theatre and was always the child with all the ideas and excitement, however I also enjoyed my alone time, leading me to movies and TV. I remember becoming fixated on shows like ‘Strawberry Shortcake,’ and ‘Fifi and the Flowertots,’ loving the aesthetics and whimsical “alternate world” that was created through the art and simple lives of the characters on my screen. As a child, and an adult, I have always been one to not just like something but love it. My passion is immense when I find something I enjoy.
