The Mills Lab at Mount St. Mary's University uses biochemical and bioinformatic methods to study noncanonical roles of microRNAs in regulating cell biology. We are passionate about conducting rigorous and reproducible science that can be used to advance the field's understanding of microRNA function. The lab seeks to produce scientific insights and develop educational resources to help train students for academic and professional careers in STEM. Students in the lab receive training in biochemistry, molecular biology, and bioinformatics as well as professional development and mentoring to facilitate their transition to further education or careers after graduation.
