The Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAS), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, is well connected by air, rail, and road, making it easily accessible from across India.
Varanasi is served by Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport (VNS), Babatpur, located about 30 km from BHU campus. The airport has regular flights to major Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru, as well as some international destinations. Taxis and app-based cabs are available from the airport to BHU.
Varanasi is a major railway hub with two important stations:
Varanasi Junction (Varanasi Cantt – BSB) – about 10 km from BHU campus.
Manduadih Railway Station (MUV) – about 8 km from BHU campus.
Mughalsarai (Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction – DDU) – about 18 km from BHU campus, another major rail junction.
From these stations, auto-rickshaws, taxis, and app-based cab services provide convenient transport to the university.
Varanasi is well connected by national highways to Lucknow, Patna, Kolkata, Prayagraj, and other major cities. Regular UPSRTC and private buses, along with taxis, operate to and from Varanasi. The BHU campus is located on the Varanasi–Mirzapur road (about 5 km from Lanka crossing).
