The Arts & Education program enhances our children’s education. These programs are “in-house field trips” taking place in an intimate classroom setting. Our mission is to provide supportive, positive and fun experiences for our children. We strive to bring school curriculum alive through storytelling, dance, music, outside performances, and assemblies that provide exciting, hands-on, interactive opportunities across all grades during the school year.
These programs are wholly funded through fundraising events and generous donations from Miller families. Fundraising like Race for Education, Box Top collection, and Shoe Box Recycling Program generate the budget allowing for the programs to continue each year.
Below is a glimpse of the programs that are coming to your child’s classroom.
Below are all the A&E programs with descriptions. Please contact the classroom teacher for the exact time of a scheduled program.
Tom and Dan Foote, brothers who teach at the Berklee College of Music, bring their enthusiasm and infectious love for drumming to each kindergarten classroom. Using the sounds of percussion instruments, they take children on an imaginary trip into the rainforest of Ghana. In a village style circle, each child sits on their own authentic African drum as he or she learns traditional African rhythms. A Kindy favorite!
