Support the cause financially...
Mill Creek Give-A-Way initiative, which is preparing to embark on its 4th school year of service, with the 5th event this summer. Mill Creek Give-A-Way is focused on providing students in the Hendricks County region with clothing, shoes, and hygiene products; uniting the needs of students with those who have the means to donate. Our past events have served around 100 children per occasion, and in just two years, we raised over $6,000 to support the mission and fund needs for students.
A Give-A-Way event starts with careful planning and a line up of dedicated volunteers. This year, Cascade High School will be the host location. During the event, volunteers sort through donated clothing, shoes, coats, dresses, sports items, backpacks, and more. We are very particular about the quality of items we retain. We also procure new undergarments and hygiene products to ensure that each student receives necessary essentials. When the doors open for the students to come in and shop, God’s abundant blessings shine bright! Students get to pick out their clothes and shoes, choose new toothbrushes and fresh soaps, and leave with brand new underwear and socks. We also have community support booths for causes such as the food pantry, local churches, and the school therapist.
Mill Creek Give-A-Way finds inspiration in Luke 3:11. “John answered, “Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.” This mission is led in a way that others, through donations of time, skills, items, or financial support, have a place to give what they have, to those who are in any amount of need. Are you interested supporting the cause?
As of now, the previous funds have been used to bless students and we need to raise $3000. We are projecting to have the largest event yet, July 10th-11th! Any financial donations will go directly towards shoes, socks, underwear, and other necessary purchases to connect students with all that Mill Creek Give-A-Way can offer. As a reassurance, please know that all funds that are meant for the “Mill Creek Give-A-Way” program, stay in a dedicated line item, in the overall budget. All funding stays accounted for and separate from other causes within the PTO. Left over items benefit other local, like-minded organizations. All new left over items are stored for the next year. Please feel free to reach out to me in regards to any information or ideas of how to connect with Mill Creek Give-A-Way.
