The Millcreek BB Gun Team is proud to support youth ages 8 to 15 through a program focused on gun safety, discipline, and marksmanship, with eligibility ending on their 16th birthday.
Our program combines classroom instruction and competitive shooting in a fun and structured environment. We follow the NRA and Daisy Manufacturing–approved 10-Lesson Curriculum, beginning with a three-week safety course (held once a week) covering gun safety, handling, and the fundamentals of marksmanship. Participants must pass a written test before progressing to live fire on the indoor range.
After completing the safety portion, youth train and compete using the Daisy AVANTI Champion Model 499B BB rifles. Shooters learn four standard positions—standing, sitting, kneeling, and prone—at a distance of 5 meters.
The competition season runs January through April, with continued weekly practices and 5–6 weekend matches. If the team places in the top three at the Pennsylvania State Match, seven shooters advance to post-season training for the Daisy National BB Gun Championship in Rogers, Arkansas, held over Fourth of July weekend.
The season starts the first Thursday of November with classes from 6:00–8:00 PM at the Millcreek Rod & Gun Club. In January, we begin regular Monday and Thursday practices.
All equipment is provided, and club membership is not required to join. Please help us spread the word—the more youth we educate on safe, responsible gun use, the stronger the future of shooting sports will be.
